From Sunday, visitors will, for the first time, have more time to enjoy Table Mountain in the spring - they'll be able to go up earlier and return later.

Previously, the Table Mountain Aerial Cableway Company started it's earlier operating hours in December, but this was brought forward because of an increase in visitor numbers this year.

Between July last year and June this year, 839 000 people used the cableway, 68 000 more than the previous year.

So, from Sunday to the end of April, the first car will go up half an hour earlier, at 8am, and, until the end of October, the last car will return at 7pm.

In November the last car will return at 8pm, then at 9.30pm from December 1 to 15 and 10pm until January 15.

Ticket prices increase from October: adult return R130, children and senior citizens R68, students R88.
