The Arts Bus, a free hop-on, hop-off Durban bus service allowing art lovers to visit eight of the city's galleries in one Saturday, has been extended until the end of the year.

It will continue until Christmas - with trips on November 14, 21 and 28, and again on December 5, 12 and 19, leaving from the KZNSA Gallery in Glenwood at 9am and returning to the gallery mid-afternoon.

Safe parking is available at the KZNSA Gallery.

A Movable Arts Feast, also known as the Arts Bus, is an innovative project to encourage the pubic to visit Durban's many galleries. It is being hosted for the second year by the local branch of the Visual Arts Association of SA.

The bus was introduced as part of the Celebrate Durban season and ran throughout September and October. It was so popular that the bus filled up within days... and there is now a waiting list of about 100 people.

People are encouraged to visit a selection of Durban's premier galleries through an "art gallery trail".

The Arts Bus tour guide provides narrative along the route about the galleries and exhibitions on show.

Among galleries visited are the KZNSA; Durban Art Gallery; Bat Centre on the Victoria Embankment; African Art Centre and Artisan Gallery, both in Morningside; artSPACE durban in Stamford Hill; and the Kizo Art Gallery in Umhlanga.

Bus entry is free and all are welcome. Seats are limited so booking is advisable
